Now that Mother’s Day is approaching, what better way to honour your mother than with an extra special virtual event? We’ve included a variety of options below, so you can be sure to have a great time while keeping everyone safe in the process.

Passing down recipes to the next generation can be a family tradition! This Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to start the recipe teaching – or create something new! Celebrate Mother’s Day by planning to cook a special meal together in your respective homes. Whether it be practicing an old tradition or creating a new one – planning a Zoom cooking party has never been easier. Gather the ingredients, set the date and time, and then send your virtual meeting link by text or email. 

Take a Virtual Class Together

Virtual classes have become increasingly more popular during the ongoing pandemic. With various options, Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to learn something you’ve always wanted to try! Sign up with your mom for a virtual class like jewellery making or flower arranging. These classes will not only bring you closer, but both of you will learn a new skill in the process.

Indulge in a Virtual Wine Tasting

What better way to show your mother you love her – than by purchasing a variety of new wines? Wine tastings can be an excellent way to bond and expand your palette. Although in-person wine tastings may not be an option, you can still participate virtually! Free virtual wine tastings are available from wine.com. You can also order your wine for delivery or pickup beforehand. 

Create a Nostalgic Slideshow

While we can’t physically be together, memories can keep us going by reminding us of what matters most. Put together a slideshow collection of your favourite childhood photos and/or videos that your mom is sure to appreciate! Not only will it bring back incredible stories, but it is sure to generate laughs and tears. Be sure to include some of your favourite photos together to let her know how valued your mom really is. 

Play a Mother’s Day Virtual Trivia Game

Whether you are using an app like Poll Everywhere or Kahoot, virtual trivia games can be a lot of fun and provide laughs for the whole family. Prepare some delicious snacks, enjoy some drinks, and get competitive! You can also create an exciting Mother’s Day Competition with your own original questions for each other or for the grandkids! Expand to include the whole family.
