So you’re having a tough time deciding where to take mom for Mother’s Day. We’ve all been there! It can be difficult to find the right balance between special and relaxing for her special day. To help you choose, we’re going to share our favourite places to have the best Mother’s Day brunch in Whitby.
The Brock House
The Brock House is best described as “Muskoka Cottage meets Whistler Chalet”. This cozy upscale spot has an incredibly down-to-earth vibe with warm woods and stone fireplace. Comfortable booths add to the restaurant’s charm and invite great conversation. There’s also an incredible menu available with fresh-made custom omelettes and 3-topping personal pizzas made before your very eyes. The buffet includes all the main staples for a great brunch as well with scrambled eggs, bacon strips, ham, and waffles. Don’t forget to visit the awesome chocolate fountain; we guarantee you won’t regret it!
Lake Grill is one of those hidden gems you usually only hear about from word-of-mouth. This fun, energetic restaurant has a great ambiance that really lends itself to the brunch experience. If you’re looking for a low-key, unpretentious spot for Mother’s Day this is a great choice! We highly recommend trying something different from your everyday go-to’s when you come here; there are so many savoury combos on the menu you’re going to have a great time exploring. Our personal favourites are the poached eggs with salsa and guacamole as well as the seafood omelettes!
The Lil Organic Kitchen
Lil Organic Kitchen is a restaurant for all our vegan/ vegetarian readers out there. This family-owned business was created with the intention of bringing healthy, whole foods to the community, and it shows! Everything from the open-concept kitchen, to the focus on pure foods, and admiration for local farmers really brings together the concept of healthy living. This is a perfect spot for brunch, especially if you’re looking for unique options. If you have some pickier eaters with you, there’s no need to worry as they provide food for gluten sensitive eaters and some meat options as well. Be sure to check out their falafel wraps and Funky Fries, with freshly pressed juice.
3 Steps Up Coffee House Inc.
3 Steps Up Coffee House is a little hidden away, but it is definitely worth the trip for your special Mother’s Day brunch. Family owned and operated, 3 Steps Up has incredible homemade scones, soups, sandwiches, tarts, pies, cookies available daily. Everything tastes so fresh and the cozy ambiance is to die for, with a gallery of paintings by local artists! Be sure to reserve a spot for high tea in order to have a truly wonderful treat.
