2.Historical Kid’s Camp

Kid friendly fun is what can be found during the Clarington Museums and Archives March Break History Camp. The camp will run from March 13th to 17th, and kids will experience history of the local area with a “hands on” approach, including creating a Heritage Minute for Clarington, making treasures, playing games, and more. Registration for the camp is $40.00 per child per day, or $175 for the whole week. For more information,  and to register your child, consult their website at: http://www.claringtonmuseums.com/

3.Play Inside

An exciting and engaging opportunity for children, regardless of the weather is Joey’s Indoor Playground. The site offers a 20 ft. indoor play structure which features 3 slides and a 20ft climbing wall, a sports simulator with multiple sporting options, and an area for toddlers. Exploration of the arts is an important aspect of childhood. The Clarington Visual Arts Museum is hosting a March Break Day Camp, with each day featuring a different type of visual arts. Participants can choose whether they would like to learn more about mixed media, clay art and pottery, printmaking, and more. The day camp can be a one day thing, or the kids can participate for the full week. To register your child, or to see what else the museum has to offer, click here.

7.Outdoor History

Bowmanville and area is very rich in historical content. A great way for your family to explore the history of the area, while getting some fresh air and enjoying the outdoors, is the Ehrenwort Trail. The trail is a historical site from a German POW camp, which allows you to walk through the roads that once ran through POW Camp 30. It is a National Historic site that features buildings still standing from the camp, which the municipality has future plans to repurpose. For the time being, however, it is an excellent glimpse into how the camp was set up during the war, and a beautiful walk that is fun for the whole family. More information about the site can be found on the Clarington Community website at www.clarington.net.

So whether you are searching for something for the kids, looking to get outside, or just looking for a way to relax this March Break, Bowmanville and the Clarington County has a variety of activities to offer for people of all ages! This is only one of the many reasons that Bowmanville and area are the ideal place for you and your family.
