2.Historical Kid’s Camp

Kid friendly fun is what can be found during the Clarington Museums and Archives March Break History Camp. The camp will run from March 13th to 17th, and kids will experience history of the local area with a “hands on” approach, including creating a Heritage Minute for Clarington, making treasures, playing games, and more. Registration for the camp is $40.00 per child per day, or $175 for the whole week. For more information,  and to register your child, consult their website at:

7.Outdoor History

Bowmanville and area is very rich in historical content. A great way for your family to explore the history of the area, while getting some fresh air and enjoying the outdoors, is the Ehrenwort Trail. The trail is a historical site from a German POW camp, which allows you to walk through the roads that once ran through POW Camp 30. It is a National Historic site that features buildings still standing from the camp, which the municipality has future plans to repurpose. For the time being, however, it is an excellent glimpse into how the camp was set up during the war, and a beautiful walk that is fun for the whole family. More information about the site can be found on the Clarington Community website at

So whether you are searching for something for the kids, looking to get outside, or just looking for a way to relax this March Break, Bowmanville and the Clarington County has a variety of activities to offer for people of all ages! This is only one of the many reasons that Bowmanville and area are the ideal place for you and your family.
