Milton is known for its family friendly environment, with many indoor playgrounds, outdoor skating rinks, and activities year round that are suitable for people of all ages. With March Break approaching quickly, it is time to start planning what you are going to do with your kids. Spend some time together in Milton, and check out these five things to do with your kids during their March Break vacation.

Take Your Family to New Heights
March Break Vacation

Located right in the centre of Milton lies a challenging indoor climbing gym, suitable for the whole family. Take a new approach to the March Break this year, and challenge your family to learning the skill of rock climbing. Aspire Climbing Gym offers multiple courses to try, from beginners to expert levels, so whether you are new to the sport, or have been doing it for years, it is an exciting way to spend a day with the family. The gym also offers an indoor ninja course, with numerous challenges that are physically demanding but fun. If climbing is not your forte, try competing with each other in the daring ninja challenge.

Have Fun and Learn Together

From March 12th to 16th, the Milton Mall will be offering a Junior Rangers Kids’ Club every morning from 10 am – noon. Bring your children for educational games, crafts, and challenges centered around learning about the environment and nature. This event is suitable for children aged 4-12, and parents are required to supervise their children. Spend the morning helping them learn about water conservation, trees, and endangered animals at the Milton Mall.

Sweeten Them up with Maple

The maple syrup season conveniently lands right in the middle of March Break, and Halton Region Conservation Authority is hosting their annual event, Maple Town, a celebration of the traditional “sweet water” as a part of Indigenous cultures. Every day during March Break from 10 AM to 4 PM, the functioning sugar bushes at Crawford Lake Conservation Area and Mountsberg Conservation Area are open for visitors to learn about the production of the very popular Canadian tradition of maple products. So bring your entire family and enjoy a day in the outdoors, and finish it off with a sweet Canadian treat.

Get Moving!

The Town of Milton has many different sporting activities for families to participate in together, and throughout the March Break, drop in sessions will be offered at multiple fitness facilities throughout the city. Whether it is skating at full speed in the arena, dancing away with a zumba class, or swimming from one end of the pool to the other, there is a sport for your family to try out together. Grab your fitness gear, and get the family moving with the Town of Milton’s Drop in Program.

Go to the Library

Over the March Break, the Milton Library will be offering fun and exciting educational activities for children, including hands on activities, shows, and a number of literary based theme days. Spend a day reading your favourite book in a quiet corner while your children explore the world of literature through fun activities, or join in on the fun and get the whole family involved. These activities have a wide age range, and can be a fun experience for everyone. For full details about each event, consult the March Break schedule here.

March Break doesn’t have to mean a whole week of sitting around at home watching TV. Get involved with the kids, and have some fun! Whether you are making craftys and learning about the environment, or challenging yourself with a new sport or climbing, Milton has a wide variety of activities for the whole family over the March Break.
